Mustafa Kemal Atatürk'ün İngilizce Hayatı

Atatürk was born in Selanik in 1881 . His father was Ali Rıza Efendi , and his mother was Zübeyde Hanım . His parents called him Mustafa .

         His father , Ali Rıza Efendi , died when little Mustafa started primary school . So they moved to another city and started to live in his uncle's house . He worked on his uncle's farm during the summer . When he was 12 , he went to Military School . Then in 1905 , he graduated from the Military Academy .

         He was very good at maths at Military School . He had the same name as his maths teacher so one day , his maths teacher said to him "Your name is Mustafa . My name is Mustafa . That's why I'm calling you Kemal . Your name is Mustafa Kemal from now on " After this speech , all his friends and teachers called him Mustafa Kemal . He fought in the Gallipoli(Gelibolu) Wars in 1915 . In 1919 , Atatürk began a nationalist revolution in Anatolia . He became the chief commander of the Turkish Independence War . He invited all Turkish patriots to Ankara on 19th March , 1920 . He opened the Turkish Grand National Assembly by a religious ceremony on 23rd April , 1920 .

         In 1921 , Atatürk established a provisional government in Ankara . The new government abolished the Ottoman Sultanate . In 1923 , Mustafa Kemal and Turkish patriots founded the Turkish Republic . He became the first president of the Turkish Republic . 

       In 1934 , The Turkish Grand National Assembly gave him the surname "Atatürk" which means "Father of the Turks" in English .

        He died on 10th  November , 1938 . His mausoleum is in Ankara
